Diving into the Master’s Words

You and your colleagues will examine core topics Jesus addresses in parables, such as the cost of discipleship, the hiddenness of the Kingdom of God, the power in total commitment to Christ’s cause and the power of the Gospel – God’s incomparable love for those who have gone astray.

Your understanding will be richly enhanced, through asking and answering questions – all done in the original Greek!

Pre-requisite

You have completed our REFRESHING SEMINARY GREEK course (or its equivalent – meaning, you can understand simple utterances in Koine Greek, spoken and read at the rate of speech, and you can also speak, with a core vocabulary of approx. 300 words).

Content

Your vocabulary will increase, as we traverse the terrain of topics from terrestrial and aquatic geography, through commerce and animal care, to sailing, the culinary arts and aspects of royalty.

Your familiarity with (and appreciation for!) participles will begin to develop. Really knowing this language feature is so crucial for understanding ancient Greek!

You will understand stories narrated in both present and past tenses.

By the course’s end, you will be able to:

  • respond appropriately to an increasingly broader set of commands

  • command others to complete tasks

  • describe people, places and objects in your own words

  • answer comprehension questions about four parables

  • pose comprehension questions to others

  • retell the stories in your own words

  • recite three parables from memory

  • use portions of the Scriptures in prayer to God

Cost & Duration

We meet weekly, for a two-hour session. Eight weeks (16 hours of live instruction).

The cost is just $312.
